The pistol is somewhat effective, at killing regular zombies, but it takes 2 or 3 shots in order to do so. However, shooting a regular zombie in the head will kill it, in one shot. The pistol has infinite ammo, and holds 15 rounds, or shots, per clip.
Dual pistols have the same effectiveness as the single pistol, and they also have infinite ammo, but they will hold 30 rounds per clip. There’s no real difference between these and the regular pistol, except the amount of ammo that the regular pistol can hold, compared to the amount of ammo the dual pistols can hold.
The magnum pistol will kill a regular zombie in one shot, no matter where it hits. This pistol will kill most special infected, in only a few shots. It has infinite ammo, but only holds 8 rounds per clip.
Sub – Machine Gun
The sub machine gun holds 50 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 700 rounds. It’s an automatic weapon, and so when firing, you don’t have to keep pushing RT. You can simply hold RT, and the sub machine gun will keep on firing. 700 rounds may seem like a lot, but it goes quicker than you’d think.
The machine pistol holds 50 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 700 rounds. It’s an automatic weapon. It’s about the same as the sub machine gun, but it doesn’t have the orange fiery colored flash, like the sub machine gun does, when you fire the gun.
The pump shotgun holds 8 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 64 rounds. It’s not an automatic weapon, so when firing, you have to keep pushing RT. Other than that, it’s a pretty good weapon, with good power, at close range.
The chrome shotgun holds 8 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 64 rounds. It’s not an automatic weapon. It’s about the same as the pump shotgun, but slightly more powerful.
The tactical shotgun holds 10 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 100 rounds. It is an automatic weapon. It has about the same power as the other shotguns, but it fires just a little bit quicker, which could mean the difference between winning and losing a tank fight.
The combat shotgun holds 10 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 100 rounds. It’s an automatic weapon. It’s about the same as the tactical shotgun, but its shots are a little bit more powerful.
The hunting rifle holds 15 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 165 rounds. It’s not an automatic weapon. It’s more powerful than the normal pistol, but not the magnum pistol. The hunting rifle is ideal for shooting regular infected at a distance.
The grenade launcher only holds one round per clip, but it’s the most powerful weapon of the game. It makes short work of any zombie it hits, and fast. It’s pretty easy to use. The only downside is that it can be sort of difficult to stay out of its blast range. It has a max ammo of 31 rounds.
The combat rifle holds 60 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 420 rounds. It is a semi – automatic weapon, meaning that it fires in bursts. If you held RT, then the gun would keep firing. However, if you only pressed RT once, then it would fire one burst of 3 shots. Although the combat rifle has good power to it, it’s not quite as powerful as the AK or the M – 16.
AK – 47
The AK – 47 assault rifle holds 40 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 400 rounds. It is an automatic weapon. It has good power to it, being more powerful than the sub machine gun, but the sub machine gun can hold 300 more rounds. It’s sort of a compromise, but between the submachine gun and the AK, I like to go with the AK – 47.
The sniper rifle holds 30 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 210 rounds. It is not an automatic weapon. Its power and its zoom are both about the same as that of the hunting rifle, but just a little bit better.
M – 16 Assault Rifle
The M – 16 assault rifle holds 50 rounds per clip. It has a max ammo of 410 rounds. It’s an automatic weapon. It has about the same power to it that the AK has, and it can hold 10 more rounds per clip than the AK. Other than that, its about the same.
Most of the blunt melee weapons do about the same amount of damage, but the sharp melee weapons do more damage. The most powerful melee weapon, the chainsaw, is pretty cool. Melee weapons never have to be reloaded, and the chainsaw never has to be refueled or recharged, which is what I like about them. I still don’t think they’re a replacement for pistols, but in close combat situations, they’re more useful than you might think.
The crow bar is a blunt object, commonly found throughout the game. It’s usually found on the ground. Attack a regular infected with it once, and it’ll die.
The axe is slightly more powerful than the crow bar. It can be found, most of the time, hanging from walls, or on the ground.
Katana / Ninja Sword
The ninja sword is about as powerful as the axe, and can be found on the ground, most of the time. It’s rarer to find than most of the other melee weapons, but it can be pretty handy in a tight situation.
The chainsaw is the most powerful melee weapon, in Left 4 Dead 2. Once you rev it up, it won’t die on you, allowing you to constantly attack the infected, with no breaks. It can kill special infected, with ease, making it a good weapon to hold onto. It’s rarer to find than most of the other melee weapons.
The guitar is usually found on the ground, or on stages. It is about as powerful as the crow bar, but it looks cooler, when you bash a zombie with it.
The cricket bat is usually found on the ground, and is about as powerful as the crow bar or guitar. It really isn’t a whole lot different than the crow bar or guitar, but it has a pretty good reach, it’s still fun to use, and it will save you, in close combat.
The baseball bat, like the cricket bat, is usually found on the ground, and about as powerful as any of the other blunt melee weapons. It’s pretty cool, but I personally like the cricket bat a little better.
The machete is usually found where most of the other melee weapons are found, on the ground. It’s kind of like the ninja sword, but flatter looking. It’s a good weapon, but I personally like using the ninja sword better.
The tonfa (cop stick) resides where the other melee weapons reside, which would be on the ground, on tables, shelves, etc. It has the same power as the other blunt melee weapons. I’ve always enjoyed using it, although my favorite melee weapon is the chainsaw. My second favorite would be the ninja sword. My third favorite is a toss up between the tonfa and the cricket bat.
The frying pan is usually found on the ground, also. A lot of melee weapons are found on the ground, aren’t they? The frying pan does about the same amount of damage as the other blunt melee weapons.
Yes, it’s a bottle of puke! Don’t ask. When the boomer bile is thrown, zombies will rush in and attack at the area in which it was thrown. So, in other words, other zombies will attack the zombies with boomer puke that you’ve thrown on them. It works sort of like the pipe bomb, but the bottle of boomer puke doesn’t blow up or anything.
Throw the Molotov, and wherever it lands, you’ll see a huge burst of flames. This will greatly weaken any enemies, giving you a significant advantage. My tip would be to save it for the tougher enemies, like the witch or the tank.
The pipe bomb, when thrown, will attract zombies to where it lands, with a beeping sound. When they go over to it, they go away from you, giving you some breathing room. After a few seconds, it will detonate, killing any zombies within its vicinity.
